About Nancy Conlin, Yoga instructor at Gold Bar

It is a great pleasure teaching Yoga at Gold Bar community Hall I grew up in Capilano so this definitely feels like home to me. My first classes of yoga were through the YMCA which were inspirational to my training. There are so many styles of yoga today the learning is endless. I have always had a passion for a healthy lifestyle and helping others.

Yoga has become a daily practice and helps remind me to be in the present moment and enjoy every minute.

Other places that I teach are at Yoga Central and the Wellspring in Edmonton.

Yoga classes that I teach at Gold Bar are considered Hatha Yoga. This means that they are slower alignment based movements to balance our body, mind and spirit. Each class starts with breathing techniques to relax the body and calm the mind. Then move through a warm up with stretching before standing and balncing postures. Then further stretching with a cool down and final relaxation.

They cover a variety of weekly and monthly themes that are helpful for strengthening the muscles and joints while increasing flexibility and mobility. As well reduce stress with breath work and usually improves sleep. Practicing yoga regularly is the best way to notice it's benefits of increases energy, vitality and overall wellness.

Basic yoga postures are practiced at one's individual level, modifications are always available so each person can feel safe and move within their range of mobility.

Class days and times are as follows:

Tuesday morning from 9:45 - 11:00, Wednesday evening from 8:00 - 9:15
