In September of 2006 Gold Bar Basketball amalgamated with other Southeast Edmonton Community League basketball programs to form Southeast "Swarm" Basketball Association. The amalgamation will allow us the operate a more effective and efficient program and offer a better basketball program to all our members.

The 2012 season marks the 26th year of the Gold Bar Community Slopitch League. From a humble beginning consisting of two teams consisting of Gold Bar residents and their friends, the league has grown to eight teams from the surrounding areas. The slopitch league is a mixed adult league and is open to anyone 16 years of age and older. Although it is a fun league, the level of play can at times be quite competitive.

Gold Bar has supported the sport of Ringette since 1988 when the first Bunnie Ringette team was started.  For the next 12 years Ringette was a community based program.  For the past few years Ringette has moved to an overall program with children of all ages playing city wide.  It is a great sport and one that encourages skating development and team play.  Gold Bar still supports Ringette in many different areas, from the Bunnies Initiation program that runs for 5 year olds and teaches the fundamentals of both skating and the sport to the “Ringette Scores Against Breast Cancer” event which runs every 2 years and is in the format of a 24 hour Ringette game sponsored by NAWRA (Northern Alberta Women’s Ringette Association).   Although no longer community based Ringette is one of many sports that Gold Bar is proud to support.  For more information on Ringette call Isabella at 780.466.3895 or link to Edmonton Federaton Ringette Association,, Ringette Alberta at or the Edmonton Ringette Club,
